Someone said: “A bird is not singing because it has a word; it is singing because it has a song.”
This phrase stuck in my mind and thoughts for many days and I could sense the various tunes and sounds of all the birds surrounding us. Each little bird is praising the Creator of all through their own individual song and it does not matter whether there is a storm coming or passing, or during the cold of the winter months or the hot summer days. Each little bird welcomes the morning light with a jubilant song and the swallows enjoy the last rays of sunlight of each day by flying high above the earth and chirping their songs.
Applying it to us in a spiritual manner, we can then also acknowledge that we do not have only one word to say – but many. In fact when we speak about our Lord Jesus Christ, we have so much more to say about His Grace and Mercy and Love. In the Book of Job 36:1- 3 the friend of Job (Elihu) said the following: “Bear with me a little, and I will show you, for I have yet something to say on God’s behalf. I will get my knowledge from afar and ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
As children of God we do not only have a word, but we have many songs to sing and each new song is even more beautiful than the all the previous ones, because of Whom we are singing it to. We have:
- A song of Praise !!!
- A song of Worship !!!
- A song of Adoration !!! AND TO STAND IN AWE OF HIM!
We sing songs of love to our Beloved and scripture reveals that He is also just as madly in love as we are. The prophet reveals in the Book of Zephania: “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”(Zep 3:17)
This exact meaning of this scripture – God gets up from His throne and dance (twirls) around His throne and shouts His love back to you and me. This God – the Creator and Savior of all, who formed everything that we see and can’t see with the breath of His voice – He exult over you with loud singing!!!! We serve an awesome God and Job confessed in the end: “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans. Job 42:2 (Msg). Nothing is impossible for God and therefore we can have faith in Him and trust Him completely with our whole life and for the rest of our lives.
We have each day a new song (morning; noon and night). A New Hallelujah as Micheal W Smith sings it. Sing it with all your might. Let the songs arise from all children of God. He is worthy to be praised!
