The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Colosse and he reveals to them who Jesus Christ is. That Jesus is the express image of the invisible God (verse 15). And that all fullness of the Godhead dwelleth in Christ bodily (2:9). But then he also revealed this great mystery, hid from ages and generations, but is now made manifest to the saints through Christ –
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
The main thing is – do you have Christ in you? Do you experience His power of resurrection in your life and do you have that never fading hope of glory? Because of the hope that Paul experienced, he was convinced that we should keep on preaching Christ, keep on warning and teaching every man (and woman) until we can be perfect in Jesus.
Time in this world is running out fast. Sometimes, I wonder if we as children of God – and I refer to born-again, Spirit-filled men and women – really do believe that the return of Jesus is imminent. It seems like business as usual. Same as in the days of Noah.
I also experience a high level of apathy amongst many Christians. They do not care about the Word, or being deceived by false teachers and prophets, or about the end times. They are just going on about their own business and it seems there is no more fear of the Lord.
That is when we look at the scripture;
Mat 24:37 -39 (ISV) because just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark. They were unaware of what was happening until the flood came and swept all of them away. That’s how it will be when the Son of Man comes.
When God instructed Noah to go into the ark, He shut the door of the ark. That meant the opportunity to repent had gone by. Many people believe, and yes, many churches and pastors also proclaim that the world will have a second chance to repent after the rapture has taken place. But when Jesus takes His church away, the Holy Spirit will also depart as there will be no more need for the Spirit anymore. Then, how will it be possible for someone to accept Christ afterwards without the presence of the Holy Spirit, while they could not or did not want to come to repentance NOW while the Holy Spirit is calling and convicting them?
Once the Lord has returned, there will be no 2nd chance and therefore, it is important to make your life right with Christ now while you have the one and only chance.
Before the door of grace is being shut!
