By Pastor Willem J Henning (Born Free Ministries)
As I sit here, reflecting on my journey of faith, I am reminded of the verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:23 that has been a guiding light in my life. It says,
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.“
These words have resonated deeply within me, reminding me of the importance of wholeness in every aspect of my being.
In a world that often seeks to fragment and divide, this verse serves as a powerful reminder that true peace and sanctification come when we are whole. It speaks to the holistic nature of our existence, acknowledging the interconnectedness of our spirit, soul, and body. We are not simply physical beings, but also possess a soul and a spirit that are equally deserving of God’s sanctification and preservation.
When I ponder on the meaning of being whole, I am reminded of the times when my spirit, soul, and body align in harmony. It is in these moments that I feel most connected to God, experiencing a deep sense of peace and fulfilment. However, I am also aware that achieving this wholeness is an ongoing process, one that requires intentionality and surrender.
As I continue to walk this path of wholeness, I am reminded that it is a lifelong journey. There will be times when I stumble and fall, but I am reassured by the promise that God’s grace is sufficient. He is faithful to sanctify and preserve me, enabling me to become blameless as I await the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, my beloved Brothers and Sisters, I encourage you to embrace the call to be whole. Allow God to sanctify your spirit, soul, and body, and may His peace be with you on this beautiful journey. Remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that your wholeness is a testament to His love and grace.
