How desperate are you for God

How desperate are you for God

There are two songs that really stir my heart: “Breathe” and “Let it rain.”
One line in the chorus of Breathe reads: “And I, I’m desperate for You.”

My question today: How desperate are you for God?
Do we realize that God wants a relationship with us, not just “I know your name” relationship – but a relationship that is more meaningful than a Father-son relationship, even more intimate than we sometimes want to imagine!

I hope that this short question will stir you to seek Him, not only as the Sovereign God, but as a friend and as your Bridegroom.

I realize that the concept of the ‘Bridegroom’ is strange to the male gender (like myself) but if we understand that we are the body of Christ and He is the Head, and that the Head is the bridegroom and the body the bride, it is easier to picture how this union is accomplished.

Eph 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Eph 4:15-16 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

The Bridegroom will be coming soon to take His place as head of the Church. Are you ready?
