As born again believers, we must all come to realize that God has given us the ability to be champions in life. We can reign over all things. There should be nothing to difficult for us. When we look to God our possibilities in life are without limitation.
Luke 18:27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The Jerusalem Bible says, “There is nothing I cannot master with the help of the One who gives me strength.” (more…)
I had the privilege to take part in a men’s breakfast yesterday at Jabez Ministries, West-Village, Krugersdorp.
What an exciting time! Thanks again to Pastor Frank and Pastor Hilton for the arrangements.
One thing that struck me was that the men of South Africa really need to stand up and take their rightful place in the home and in society. Our responsibilities as leaders of our households can not just be thrown in the wind. This does not mean that your wife should be ready to attend to your every demand. We should rather be willing to serve our families. Past Hilton also said that if we want to be leaders, we first need to be servants! This is in line with scripture where Jesus said that “If you want to be great in God’s kingdom, learn to be the servant of all.”
God’s is faithful to fulfill His call
At the heart of the gospel, Christ Himself summons people to be restored to relationship with God and to live under His leadership. The Bible describes this powerful summons and declaration of purpose as God’s call. Without coercing or forcing people to follow Him, He persistently, patiently and powerfully works in people’s lives. Ultimately, if anyone ends up living out God’s purpose for their lives, it’s because God was at work. God begins His work long before people first believe in Christ. He continues the work of transforming us to become like Jesus throughout our lifetimes. This is why it is so significant to pray for God to accelerate and to continue His work in the lives of friends and family who have yet to follow Christ. We’re basically praying for God to press His purpose forward. (more…)
Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “I tried to forgive but I just don’t feel it.”
Many people are held back in life because they are waiting for the feeling of forgiveness before they let go. In the meantime, the unforgiveness continues its damage against them, while they wait for their feelings to change.
The problem with this thinking is that it is backwards.
Let’s overcome this today:
1. Forgiveness is not a feeling. It is a decision. Whatever grudge, whatever bitterness, or resentment that you have toward someone will not go away without a decision; a choice. (more…)
The devil has many methods and devices which he uses to try to discourage the faith of believers. But out of all of satan’s strategies, he has a favorite “secret weapon” which has been more effective in destroying Christian lives than anything else in his arsenal. He delights in this wicked device. Each time it succeeds, I can imagine that he gleefully prances about, celebrating the downfall of another poor soul.
Unfortunately for many Christians, Satan’s ultimate weapon still remains a secret. Even though its lethal strike has caused countless numbers of believers to stumble away from God and the the Church, and into the clutches of the devil, most never actually recognized what the weapon was.
By now I’m sure that you’re very curious and wonder why the Bible didn’t warn us about this weapon. However, it does warn us. As a matter of fact, Jesus taught about it repeatedly. He certainly knew its danger and made it a priority to instruct his followers of how to protect themselves against it. (more…)
Today we are fasting from the thought that forgiveness is not that big of a deal.
I know we don’t come out and say it, but in our minds, I believe many people allow unresolved conflict and bitter feelings to remain in them, without realizing how much it robs us of the life God wants us to enjoy.
Forgiveness is the gateway to so much of God’s blessing in our lives, just as unforgiveness is a gateway into so much negative in our lives.
An unforgiving heart is poison to your spirit, soul and body. Hebrews 12:15 says that a root of bitterness springs up and defiles many. It doesn’t just defile many other people, but it defiles MANY OTHER AREAS OF OUR LIFE.
One of the rules of the world’s house that we must fast from is our dependence upon people.
Remember, the word “economy” means “rules of the house.”
we are either living by the world’s “rules of the house” or by God’s.
One of the rules of the world’s house is that we must fast from is our dependence upon people.
We need one another to complete the purpose of God in the world, but we don’t need to depend on other people coming through for us for our needs.
Today, I want us to deal with thoughts of uncertainty.
“What’s going to happen in the world?” “What’s going to happen in the economy?” “How’s this going to affect my finances?” “I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
These thoughts of uncertainty in an unstable world must be dealt with.
The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai: “Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because their wickedness has come up before Me.” However, Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish away from the LORD’s presence. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish…. Then the LORD hurled a violent wind onto the sea, and such a violent storm came up on the sea that the ship threatened to break apart…. They said to him, “What should we do to you to calm this sea that’s against us?”… He answered them, “Pick me up and throw me into the sea so that it may quiet down for you, for I know I’m to blame for this violent storm that’s against you.”
Street preaching has never been an easy job, and anyone (more…)
