What do we miss?

Joshua Bell
A musician playing violin in a Washington DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. He played six Bach pieces for about 60 minutes.

During that time approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

After: 3 minutes: A middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes:  The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, continued to walk. (more…)

Perfect will of God!

In the previous message titled as “Spiritual Attack and Defend strategies”, I have dealt with the following verses according to Paul to the Colossae:

 Col 1:9  For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Col 1:10  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

 Looking at this in depth, we see the following aspects that he highlights:

  • that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
  • That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing,
  • being fruitful in every good work,
  •  and increasing in the knowledge of God;

 I feel the Lord is pressing it on my heart to explore this verse a little bit more, especially concerning His perfect will.  We know that when we walk in His perfect will, you can not be anything else than to please Him, to be fruitful in every good work and also increasing in the knowledge of who God is and what His will for you would be.

BUT, the question now arises: What is the perfect will of God?  Is it a general phrase or term, or is it something more specific? I would not dare to proclaim that the following insight is the only explanation for the will of God, but I am sure it would give us a pretty good picture of it.  (more…)

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically (more…)

Spiritual Attack and Defend prayer strategies

The Church should be in a state of waiting for the return of the Lord Jesus, preparing itself through holiness, etc. but such a lot of children of God are so heavenly bound that they are earthly no good.  They are saved, baptized and ready to go and nothing else matters.  This is the wrong attitude, because if the statistics reveal that only 30% of world population is Christians, then we as children of the living God, have a massive task ahead of us to proclaim the true message of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ.

 On a regular basis we see children of God who back slide and the church have a responsibility towards all these brothers and sisters. We cannot afford to be selfish in this regard, because we don’t get a second chance when the Lord has come to fetch His Bride.  You either make it or you don’t.  There is no such thing as a secondary chance or test to pass. Michael Jackson, 1958-2009, a commentary by Bishop Samuel Smith

According to Michael Jackson’s biographer Ian Halperin, in his forthcoming book, “The Final Years of Michael Jackson,” he writes that Jackson was addicted to drugs and was homosexual. His findings are supported by exhaustive research and documentation. I am not judging Michael Jackson, he was a soul that Christ loved; but, do not judge me for commenting on the state of our culture, and born-again Christians who idolize him. Some are calling him, “The Prince of Peace.”  (more…)

Do you understand what you read?

Acts 8:26-40

This specific chapter deals with the event when Philip was instructed by God to go to the south down from Jerusalem to meet up with a man on a chariot.

The background to this event describes that Philip went down to Samaria to preach Christ unto them (verse 5).  And Philip was not an apostle (or pastor), he was one of the seven deacons ordained to look after the daily ministration of the needs of the widows, so that the apostles could spend their time in prayer and ministry of the word. (Acts 6:4).
