I received the e-mail below and got to wondering if we were asked the same question \u201cCan Christians be good South Africans?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/em><\/strong>This question was forwarded\u00a0 to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20\u00a0 years. The following is his\u00a0 reply:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Theologically<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no.. Because\u00a0 his allegiance is to Allah, The moon god of\u00a0 Arabia .<\/em><\/strong>
\nReligiously<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no… Because\u00a0 no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam. (Quran,\u00a0 2:256)(Koran)<\/em><\/strong>
\nScripturally<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no… Because\u00a0 his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the\u00a0 Quran.<\/em><\/strong>
\nGeographically<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no.. Because\u00a0 his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times\u00a0 a day.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\nSocially<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no… Because his\u00a0 allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or\u00a0 Jews.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\nPolitically<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no…. Because\u00a0 he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach\u00a0 annihilation of Israel and destruction of America , the great\u00a0 Satan.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\nDomestically<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no… Because\u00a0 he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife\u00a0 when she disobeys him. (Quran 4:34 )<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\nIntellectually<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no.. Because\u00a0 he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is\u00a0 based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be\u00a0 corrupt.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\nPhilosophically<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no…\u00a0 Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of\u00a0 religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist.\u00a0 Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or\u00a0 autocratic.<\/em><\/strong>
\nSpiritually<\/strong><\/em><\/strong> – no… Because\u00a0 when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ The Christian’s God is\u00a0 loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly\u00a0 father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran’s 99 excellent\u00a0 names.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/em><\/strong>They obviously cannot be both\u00a0 ‘good’ Muslims and ‘good’ Americans.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 If we are generalised in the same way as Muslims I think many of us would fall short of being Godly and walking in the fruit of the Spirit.\u00a0 We sing \u201cMy Beloved is mine and I am His and His banner over me is love\u201d but when we are in a situation where we need to portray His nature and His character our \u2018old\u2019 nature is more evident than the new.\u00a0 Many Believers are only evident on Sundays and their behaviour is anything but exemplary Monday to Saturday.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Come on fellow Believers, lets stand up for what we believe and be the examples we are called to be in every aspect of our lives!\u00a0 Let\u2019s be imitators of Christ and what He should be to the world!<\/strong><\/p>\n
