{"id":1995,"date":"2012-09-14T10:53:48","date_gmt":"2012-09-14T08:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.galmin.co.za\/blog\/?p=1995"},"modified":"2012-09-14T10:53:48","modified_gmt":"2012-09-14T08:53:48","slug":"prospectus-binah-advanced-bible-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.galmin.co.za\/?p=1995","title":{"rendered":"Prospectus: BinaH Advanced Bible College"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 align=\"center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Introduction: <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Executive Board of Galilee International Ministries (SA), is pleased to introduce the revamped Bible College to all current and future visitors to our website and potential students.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, the name of our Bible College is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em><strong>BinaH\u00a0Avanced Bible College\u00a0<\/strong><\/em> (B -ABC)<\/li>\n<li>The word is pronounced as in <strong><em>\u201cbeen-ah\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (some resources describe it as \u201cbee-naw\u201d)<\/li>\n<li>The overall focus will be on the \u201cadvanced\/higher\u201d level of learning and insight into the Word of\u00a0 God;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>BinaH\u00a0 &#8211; is a Hebrew word which basically means \u201cunderstanding\u201d.\u00a0 But this Hebrew word is far more complex than just one single meaning and according to various Hebrew scholars, the Strong\u2019s Concordance, Hebrew-Greek\u00a0 Key Word Study Bible and other biblical resources, the root of this word is also from another Hebrew word <strong><em>\u201cbeyn\u201d<\/em><\/strong>; <strong><em>\u201cbin\u201d; \u201cbiyn\u201d <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 different spelling according to different sources &#8211;<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>which means the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">To discern between, perceive, observe, pay attention to, to be intelligent, to comprehend, knowing, to heed to, make intelligent, to instruct, to teach and to be prudent.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The primary meaning is <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>insight <\/em><\/strong><\/span>and <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>understanding<\/em><\/strong> <\/span>and discernment is a closely-related idea as the word inculcates the concept of distinguishing between right and wrong. \u00a0It is specifically noted from the meaning of this word, that it <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">does not<\/span><\/strong> refer to the <strong><em>mere accumulation of data, <\/em><\/strong>but <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">more to the acquisition of superior knowledge.<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>The word implies the ability to distinguish between the true and the false, the right from the wrong and proper understanding comes from rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15) since we are given knowledge and insight of the One God through His Word (2 Tim 3:16);\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><em>Other scholars also refers this word Binah<\/em> to the analytic and distinguishing aspects of God&#8217;s thought and it is symbolized as part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org\/jsource\/Judaism\/Shekhinah.html\"><em>Shekinah<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seeing that this word Binah has such a powerful meaning and also refers to the ability to \u201cdiscern\u2019 and \u201cto have insight\u201d,\u00a0 other mysticism groups such as the Jewish Kabbalah and even New Age groups have also applied the word in their specific theories and practices.\u00a0 However, Galilee Ministries and our BinaH Bible College does not have any relationship or connection to their teachings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 align=\"center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About BinaH Advanced Bible College:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Philosophy: <\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The very foundation of this Bible College is based on the true meaning of the Hebrew word, that we will <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">teach<\/span><\/strong> and instruct all students to hear the Word of God in Spirit and in truth, allow them\u00a0 to <strong><em>discern <\/em><\/strong>between right and wrong, truth and false teachings and finally lead them to receive<strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> insight<\/span><\/em><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">understanding<\/span><\/strong> about the God we serve and His awesome Word.\u00a0 Our slogan is therefore derived from this word:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>\u201cto teach with insight and understanding\u201d<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Word B<em>inah<\/em><em> <\/em>is associated with the power of conceptual analysis and reasoning, both inductive and deductive and in particular with the power to grasp and comprehend the insights of \u201c<em>chochma\u201d\u00a0 (wisdom)<\/em>.\u00a0 <strong>T<\/strong>he &#8220;understanding&#8221; of <em>binah <\/em>also implies the ability to examine the degree of truth or falsehood inherent in a particular idea.
