Previously:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Are you operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit due to the divine unction and direct inspiration from God,<\/span> or are you busy with wishful thinking, humanism (being carnally minded), or even witchcraft or New Age?\u00a0 This is a question that each child of God should determine and answer for himself.\u00a0 The purpose of this teaching is to be a catalyst for introspection and maybe you should also use this\u00a0to be a catalyst in another person\u2019s life, to let him\/her exam themselves according to the Word?<\/p>\n

Sunday night<\/span><\/strong> we attended a local church in Pretoria (South Africa) and according to the size of the building it could be classified as a mega church, although the attendance and membership to this church has deminished over the past few years due to a variety of reasons.\u00a0 We decided to attend because the weekly invite indicated the topic of the evening service would be: \u201cYour prophecy\u201d, <\/em><\/strong>and this would be an ideal opportunity for me to study further into this subject of the gift of prophecy in the modern church of today.<\/p>\n

When the youth pastor took over after the praise and worship, he immediately started to jump up and down and nearly ran towards another young man which he apparently called to the front. It seemed as if he jumped with force onto this young man \u2013 Bible in the one hand upon the head of this young man\u00a0 – as he \u201cprayed\u201d for him.\u00a0 He yelled something and the young man off course went down to the ground under the \u201canointing\u201d.\u00a0 Then he called other young people to the front and the similar action repeated itself. \u00a0Some of them fell quickly and others he had to replace the Bible on the stomach area of the person.\u00a0 Then he continued up the aisle and stopped at another young couple \u2013 but here at this point did not achieve any success as this young man just stood firm and did not budge one inch.\u00a0 The pastor looked around as if he wanted to see who else saw this \u201cfailure” \u00a0and then continued down the aisle again and even \u201cprayed\u201d for some of the older people \u2013 who also went down in their seats, while others still remained standing.<\/p>\n

Then he made an alter call to all the business people<\/span> who would like to receive a breakthrough in their finances.\u00a0 Immediately about 30 people went to the front \u2013 he did the same maneuver and some fell down and others stood firm.\u00a0 Based upon my experience from many an altar call, not one of these people \u201cfell under the power of the Spirit of God\u201d.\u00a0 Not ONE!<\/strong>\u00a0 But they fell down because they see it to be the norm in the church today and the youth pastor did his part very much so to push them over<\/span><\/em><\/strong> \u2013 either upon their heads or in the stomach area.<\/p>\n

For me and my wife, this was not a demonstration or manifestation of the Spirit of God or the gift of prophecy at all, but just the \u201cresemblance of a demonstration of power\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u2013 all in the flesh! \u00a0It was a display of the supposedly power of the Holy Spirit \u2013 but it was all fake!<\/p>\n

Paul wrote the following: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBut understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.\u00a0 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And verse 5:<\/span><\/strong> having the appearance<\/span> of godliness, but denying its power<\/span>. Avoid such people<\/em><\/strong>. 2Ti 3:1-5<\/strong><\/p>\n

But this whole event made me wonder?\u00a0 Why would some people fall so easy and quickly under this type of false power \u2013 while others would remain standing?\u00a0 Why would people fall so easy under the spell of a hypnotist, while I have heard from other children of God where a hypnotist could not succeed to place them under his spell?\u00a0 I think the answer is quite easy.<\/p>\n

It all depends on what you will allow in your life or not!<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

When we enter a church service such as this, we will cover ourselves with the blood of Jesus Christ for protection against any false teaching and especially against any false prophecy.\u00a0 We bind any false prophecy that it will not be directed at us and we only allow the true word of prophecy from God.\u00a0 We are VERY selective<\/span><\/strong> when someone wants to pray for us and we cover ourselves with the blood and name of Jesus Christ beforehand \u2013 as we do not want any unclean spirit of man to be conveyed to us when they lay hands upon us.<\/p>\n

Man!<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 We sure have come a long way where you have to be prepared in the Spirit of God for protection to go to a church service?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span> Just when you thought it was safe to go back to church?<\/p>\n

I have come to the following conclusion why people would easily fall in these proceedings and be misled:<\/p>\n
