And when I speak about the “basic stuff” it does not mean it is of lessor value, meaning or power. For me, I think it is exactly the opposite because when we go back to basics – right to the “starting level” – then we tend to find even more deeper meaning and value in our faith in God. It is like going back to your “roots of faith” and to find an even broader scope of the awesome and miraculous God we serve and love.

In the secular world, people often go back to find their “roots”, by digging up and searching through the old family histories in order to trace their lineage as far back as possible. Sometimes they find information about their ancestors that they rather would not have known, or to be known by anybody else. On the other hand it could also be liberating and quite interesting to search and find the background of your ancestors. Who they were and what contribution they have made to society of their times, etc.

Going back to basics in the spiritual sense, is also just as liberating and interesting to see and hear with new eyes and ears about the Creator of all. Utimately He is also part of my lineage, and I am part of His, as He is my Father! Trying to search even further back than that, is futile because He is the Creator of all and the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end! The Good News is, He can also become your Father when you accept Jesus Christ as Savior. There is more to come when He finally returns to this earth to fetch His children.

Please follow this series of “Back to basics” with us as the Lord reveals His Word in Truth!

Be the first to like.

Like

Unlike

This idea or thought has been on my mind for a long time and even many other children of God too.
