{"id":2132,"date":"2013-03-18T13:25:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-18T11:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.galmin.co.za\/blog\/?p=2132"},"modified":"2013-03-18T13:25:00","modified_gmt":"2013-03-18T11:25:00","slug":"back-to-basics-part-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.galmin.co.za\/?p=2132","title":{"rendered":"Back to Basics: Part 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the beginning of this year, we started off with a couple of new ministries;\u00a0such as fellowship groups at my house, an early morning men\u2019s prayer meeting at a business,\u00a0 another prayer meeting at a restaurant for the waiters and staff and also a Bible College class for new students and also distributing Bibles along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Although the people involved all do know about Jesus Christ, it is quite interesting to see how they react to basic stuff; such as speaking on the power of the Word of God, the power of each promise, that the Word of God <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>is<\/strong> <\/span>Truth and also how to apply it\u00a0 in our daily lives.\u00a0 Some of the attendees commented they still do not know how to read or study the Bible.\u00a0 And that makes me excited because now we can work with someone who still wants to learn something new from the Word of God.<\/p>\n<p>Our first sessions started off exactly with the concept of \u201cback to basics\u201d even without thinking about it. It just seemed as the logical point to start off with.\u00a0 How can we believe in \u201ca God\u201d if we do not know who He is, what is His characteristics and attributes and how and where does He reveal Himself to you and me?\u00a0 \u00a0When asked, most people (referring to Christians in general and even born- again children of God), would not know the name of their God.\u00a0 Remember that \u201cGod\u201d is not a name, but only a title.\u00a0 But our God does have a name and He reveals it to us through His Word.\u00a0 It is important to know His Name, because His Name is holy and powerful and we have the privilege to call upon His name in praise and worship, but also when in need!\u00a0 Let\u2019s look at scripture:<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cAnd in very deed for this <i>cause<\/i> have I raised thee up, for to shew <i>in<\/i> thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth<\/span>\u201d. <\/b>\u00a0(Exo 9:16 &#8211; KJV)<\/p>\n<p>Our first sessions involved the basic outlay of the Word of God and how God inspired various people to write about the stories of their lives and also to include the main message of it all:\u00a0 <b><i>The revelation of who God is and His plan of salvation for mankind!\u00a0 <\/i><\/b>We have one Author of the Bible and many scribes.\u00a0 In His Word, God identifies Himself as the Creator as well as the only Savior of all. While discussing the characteristics and attributes of God and how He reveals it in specific blessings\/ promises to the people of Israel, it became so clear that each promise God has given to me and you, <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is anchored\/rooted \u00a0in one or more of His characteristics or attributes.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>When we learn that God is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unchangeable<\/span>, then we also find some security in this fact because then if He says He loves us today, then He will not change His mind tomorrow or in 10 years\u2019 time.\u00a0 He is the same today, tomorrow and even to the end of times.\u00a0 When He promise something, God <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WILL<\/span><\/i><\/b> fulfill it because it is in His character to do so!<\/p>\n<p><b><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201c God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?<\/span> ( <\/i><\/b>Num 23:19 \u2013 KJV)<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, He can\u00a0promise healing to me and you, because He is the healer!\u00a0 He is the Jehovah-Jireh =\u00a0 because He is the One who provides\u00a0 and many more! He is able to do this all because He is the Almighty God.\u00a0 Nothing is impossible for Him and therefore He is willing and able to promise us all these things.\u00a0 Look at the following scripture:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><i>\u201cFor nothing will be impossible with God.&#8221;<\/i><\/b><\/span> (<b>Luk 1:37 \u2013ESV).\u00a0 <\/b>Look even closer at two specific words in this verse:<b> <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Nothing<\/span><\/b> \u2013 it means; naught; zero; nil; zilch; not anything.<\/li>\n<li><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Impossible <\/span><\/b>\u2013 now here we have about 23 different meanings which range from \u201cunfeasible\u201d to \u201cunworkable\u201d and even to \u201cimpractical\u201d.\n<ul>\n<li><b>In other words<\/b>: zero things will be impracticable or unworkable for God \u2013 because He is the God who works and specializes in the \u201cimpossible\u201d, the \u201cimpractical\u201d, but also in the extraordinary miracles in this world.<\/li>\n<li><b><i>&#8220;Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me<\/i><\/b>? (Jer 32:27 \u2013ESV)<\/li>\n<li><b><i>And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,<\/i><\/b> (Act 19:11 \u2013ESV)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In our personal lives we have seen and experienced it first-hand how God can deal with the \u201cimpossible\u201d.\u00a0 I lost my construction company during the first months of the recession period in 2007 and therefore could not pay the bond on our home (about <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">30<\/span><\/b> months) or meet the payments on my business vehicles due to financial difficulties.\u00a0 The tithes from my wife\u2019s salary still kept our ministry in Danville going strong and we did NOT withdraw it for our personal situation.\u00a0 Believe me, this could have at least paid the premium on one vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Each time when I cried out in desperation to the Lord, He did not answer my specific requests for deliverance, but He kept His promise to me that <b><i>\u201cHe will not forsake me or let go of my mind.\u201d <\/i><\/b>A promise that He has given to me about 22 years ago and He still keeps and fulfills it when necessary.<b><i> \u00a0<\/i><\/b>We prayed and cried before the Lord many times and even had to cut our soul ties with our house and personal belongings, as it could have been taken from us in a flash!<b><i> <\/i><\/b>In faith I have put the Warrants of Execution from the Sheriff\u2019s office and legal companies in my Bible and closed it.\u00a0 Now it was out of my hands and in the hands of God to deal with.<b><i> But it was tough to get it out of our minds and fears! \u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>When we reach out in faith (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not in fear<\/span>), <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God cannot deny us!<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 When you apply faith in your desperation or request to God, <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">He is compelled to react accordingly<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 There is a vast difference e between your <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">faith-in-action <\/span><\/b>and <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reaction in fear<\/span><\/b>! \u00a0God is compelled to react according to your faith, maybe not in the specific terms as what you have requested, because He knows the best and will provide the best solution to any circumstance in your life and also at the best time according to His will.\u00a0 I do believe\u00a0we first need to learn the lessons from these\u00a0experiences that our Father has prepared for us in this specific time, before we will find the resolution.<\/p>\n<p>We did not find deliverance from our bond (being paid up by some donor or receiving a deposit to get rid of the arrears) or a pardon from our debt.\u00a0 No, but we did find grace from God and His \u201cimpossible protection\u201d that our home is still intact (all legal procedures stopped) and we did not lose any vehicle or asset.
