I just don\u2019t have what it takes.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever felt like that? <\/span>You don\u2019t have what it takes to be a Christian; you just don\u2019t have what it takes to be a good parent; to stop sinning; to overcome the devil, the flesh and temptation. <\/span>Perhaps you\u2019ve thought that you didn\u2019t have what it takes to be promoted at your job, or to get the job you need, or to be the wife you\u2019re supposed to be. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Just as we saw yesterday, you\u2019re not the only one who has thought these things. <\/span>Paul the apostle dealt with the same thoughts you and I face. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, this thought: \u201cI just don\u2019t have what it takes,\u201d is a quote right out of the Bible (Message translation). In Romans 7:17-20, Paul says: \u201cI need something…I realize I don’t have what it takes…something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every time.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We often fall short and then embrace defeat. REMEMBER, there is no stopping the man or woman who is set free from wrong thinking. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Paul gives us insight into the struggle we all face, and then reveals the secret to being set free. <\/span>True freedom and true victory come from being free from wrong thinking. <\/span>Let\u2019s overcome this thought that we don\u2019t have what it takes:<\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>EMBRACE YOUR FREEDOM FROM CONDEMNATION.<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>The first step toward breaking out of this defeated mindset is to realize that even when you\u2019ve fallen short, or messed up, GOD DOES NOT CONDEMN YOU. The Apostle Paul comes right out of Romans 7, and declares in Romans 8:1 \u201cThere is NOW therefore NO condemnation, for those who are in Christ Jesus…\u201d Has something gone wrong deep within you, like Paul? <\/span>Well, don\u2019t be condemned about it. <\/span>God has just the remedy!<\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Believe in the patience of God toward you.<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>When you realize how patient He is, you\u2019ll be more patient with yourself. <\/span>Remember, it took him a week to make the universe, and yet He\u2019s STILL WORKING ON YOU! Philippians 1:6 says, \u201cFaithful is He who began the good work in you, and He will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ!\u201d <\/span>Time is on your side. <\/span>He will never give up on you, until His work is done!<\/span><\/p>\n

3.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>Start with what you have!<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/span>David said in Psalm 103, \u201cBless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me…who pardons all my sins, heals all my diseases, redeems my life from destruction…\u201d <\/span>He started listing what he already had in his life. <\/span>Before you go shopping, look in your cupboard! <\/span>There\u2019s more there than you realize! But notice also:<\/span><\/p>\n

4.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>David talked to himself. <\/span>Too often we listen to ourselves tell ourselves what we don\u2019t have, what we\u2019ve failed at, what we\u2019re missing in life. <\/span>Stop that today and begin to TALK TO YOURSELF.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

5.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>Tell yourself what you DO HAVE<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/span>Philemon verse 6 says, \u201cYour faith becomes effective through acknowledging what is already in you, in Christ Jesus.\u201d <\/span>This verse is so liberating. <\/span>Our faith overcomes our flesh and the devil by acknowledging what we already have.<\/span><\/p>\n

6.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>YOU HAVE THE HELPER\u2014THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVING INSIDE YOU.<\/span><\/strong> Romans 8:11 says that the SAME SPIRIT that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you. How\u2019s that for HAVING WHAT IT TAKES. <\/span>If you have the person who has what it takes to resurrect the dead, LIVING IN YOU, then you have what it takes to do AND to overcome ANYTHING.<\/span><\/p>\n

7.<\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span>You have the mind of Christ.<\/strong> <\/span><\/span>(1 Corinthians 2:16) God\u2019s thoughts are not beyond you. <\/span>You are not separated from God anymore. <\/span>He lives in you. <\/span>His thoughts are in you. <\/span>As you read His Word, you realize how He thinks, and that is the gateway to your new way of thinking.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

THINK IT & SAY IT:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Even when I\u2019ve fallen short, sinned and felt like a failure, I AM NOT CONDEMNED. <\/span>I am in Christ and I am free. God is patient with me, and will finish what He started. <\/span>I recognize what He has put in me. <\/span>When I feel like I don\u2019t have what it takes, I realize the greatest power in the universe lives in me! <\/span>I DO HAVE WHAT IT TAKES. <\/span>It takes the Holy Spirit, and He lives in me. He is my helper! (John 14:16, John 15:26, John 16:7) <\/span>It takes the mind of Christ, and I have it! <\/span>I have everything I need, and amply supplied\u2014My God supplies and I will never lack what it takes again, in Jesus\u2019 Name!<\/span><\/p>\n
