Todays Scripture

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Jos 1:9 (KJV) If you have fear today, or maybe you’re not sure about your future and how things will Read more

Misconceptions about Christianity – “blind faith”

A rather common accusation sharply aimed at the Christian often goes like this: “You Christians are pitiful! All you have is ‘blind faith.’” This would surely indicate that the accuser seems to think that to become a Christian, one has to commit “intellectual suicide.”
Personally, “my heart cannot rejoice in what my mind rejects.” My heart and head were created to work and believe together in harmony. Christ commanded us to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt. 22:37) (more…)

Never Stop Waiting

Selections From Luke 2
There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking forward to Israel’s consolation, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he saw the Lord’s Messiah…. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform for Him what was customary under the law, Simeon took Him up in his arms, praised God, and said: (more…)

Job Well Done!

WayOut

We sometimes allow ourselves to get into situations that is way out of God’s perfect will for us.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2Pe 1:3-4 KJV) (more…)

How to Get Along with People.

1stRemember the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.

This simple code of behavior, when practiced, made our schools, and society, a far better place than they are today. The Golden Rule has been called the greatest principle of human relations and originated from the Bible with these words of Jesus: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12).

According to Jesus, two great commands serve as the foundation of all the teaching of law and the prophets (Matt. 22:37-40). The first and greatest commandment is to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, mind, and soul.” He stated that the second great command is to “love thy neighbor as thyself,” which is another reference to the Golden Rule. In other words, “love” is the act of doing unto others as we would want them to do unto us.

The Golden Rule continues to be Jesus’ expected standard of behavior by His followers.

Kings, Priests and Prophets

Do you hear?

Do you hear?

Do you ever wonder why some people claim to hear the voice of the Lord on a regular basis and others don’t?

Is it because some are more ‘spiritual’ or closer to God than others? Do you sometimes feel ‘left-out’ or uncertain about yourself when you hear that some-one else received a Word from the Lord? You may have had the feeling that God is not speaking to you. I hope this article will give you a little more confidence in your faith. (more…)

Let Your attitude determine your altitude…

Make that your attitude, too!

Your ability to succeed in life often comes down to a single choice: how you react to what has been done to you in the past, or is being done to you right now. Dr. Viktor Frankl endured the Holocaust by this principle. The Nazis killed his family, placed him in a concentration camp, starved and beat him. When the war ended Frankl was neither broken, bent nor bitter. When asked how he endured such treatment with a positive outlook he said, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms, to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” (more…)
