I just don’t have what it takes.

Have you ever felt like that? You don’t have what it takes to be a Christian; you just don’t have what it takes to be a good parent; to stop sinning; to overcome the devil, the flesh and temptation. Perhaps you’ve thought that you didn’t have what it takes to be promoted at your job, or to get the job you need, or to be the wife you’re supposed to be.

Just as we saw yesterday, you’re not the only one who has thought these things. Paul the apostle dealt with the same thoughts you and I face.

In fact, this thought: “I just don’t have what it takes,” is a quote right out of the Bible (Message translation). (more…)

GRACE

familystudiesI had the privilege to take part in a men’s breakfast yesterday at Jabez Ministries, West-Village, Krugersdorp.

What an exciting time! Thanks again to Pastor Frank and Pastor Hilton for the arrangements.

One thing that struck me was that the men of South Africa really need to stand up and take their rightful place in the home and in society. Our responsibilities as leaders of our households can not just be thrown in the wind. This does not mean that your wife should be ready to attend to your every demand. We should rather be willing to serve our families. Past Hilton also said that if we want to be leaders, we first need to be servants! This is in line with scripture where Jesus said that “If you want to be great in God’s kingdom, learn to be the servant of all.”
