Forgiveness

Who hasn’t thought that at one time or another? The devil would love to keep us in self-condemnation for the things we have done or failed to do. He knows it paralyzes us and prevents us from making the kind of impact that God intended for us.

I just read yesterday of a young teenager who accidentally struck his 5 year old sister, with a car, tragically killing her in their driveway. And as tragic as it is for a child to die in that way at such a young age, the greater tragedy is the difficulty this young man will have forgiving himself. Though few of us have faced something as dramatic as this, we all need to overcome the thoughts that try to accuse us for what we have done. Hopefully, as well, this message will get to that young man and provide the encouragement he will need in this challenging time.

Thought 7

Today we are fasting from the thought that says: “If I forgive, I’ll be taken advantage of.”

It is very tempting to give into this false belief, but don’t give into that thinking. Forgiveness doesn’t mean tolerance. If someone is hurting you, you don’t remain a punching bag for their mistreatment.

If you’ve been abused, you don’t continue accepting it. Get in a safe place.

But, all of us need to trust God, regardless of what has been done to us.

Bigger than Conflict

No organization has ever moved forward without conflict among its people. Conflict, while often painful, is inevitable. While we can’t avoid conflict, we can grow through it, especially as we follow the apostle Paul’s guidelines for handling differences with others. (more…)

Becoming a Champion for Christ – The Champion’s Creed

conqueror1I. Introduction.
As born again believers, we must all come to realize that God has given us the ability to be champions in life. We can reign over all things. There should be nothing to difficult for us. When we look to God our possibilities in life are without limitation.
Luke 18:27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The Jerusalem Bible says, “There is nothing I cannot master with the help of the One who gives me strength.” (more…)

GRACE

familystudiesI had the privilege to take part in a men’s breakfast yesterday at Jabez Ministries, West-Village, Krugersdorp.

What an exciting time! Thanks again to Pastor Frank and Pastor Hilton for the arrangements.

One thing that struck me was that the men of South Africa really need to stand up and take their rightful place in the home and in society. Our responsibilities as leaders of our households can not just be thrown in the wind. This does not mean that your wife should be ready to attend to your every demand. We should rather be willing to serve our families. Past Hilton also said that if we want to be leaders, we first need to be servants! This is in line with scripture where Jesus said that “If you want to be great in God’s kingdom, learn to be the servant of all.”

Fresh Prayer for Today

prayer-imageGod’s is faithful to fulfill His call

At the heart of the gospel, Christ Himself summons people to be restored to relationship with God and to live under His leadership. The Bible describes this powerful summons and declaration of purpose as God’s call. Without coercing or forcing people to follow Him, He persistently, patiently and powerfully works in people’s lives. Ultimately, if anyone ends up living out God’s purpose for their lives, it’s because God was at work. God begins His work long before people first believe in Christ. He continues the work of transforming us to become like Jesus throughout our lifetimes. This is why it is so significant to pray for God to accelerate and to continue His work in the lives of friends and family who have yet to follow Christ. We’re basically praying for God to press His purpose forward. (more…)
